I have my first scooter, a Burgman 650.
After a couple of Goldwings and several sport tourers I am ready to scoot!
I rode one of these several years back that belonged to a friend and was impressed.
I have put a little over 300 miles on it so far and I like it, so putting the ST1300 up for sale.
I enjoy wrenching on these things so expect to learn a lot from you folks.

Bob,

Was it a hard decision for you to put the ST1300 up for sale? I've got a ST1300 (had a ST1100 in the past) and I've thought about selling it but then think that I'd like to keep it for those long rides that I still might be doing in the future. Plus, I enjoy hanging around w/ the STOC crowds at TexSTOC, CheapSTOC and other events. Then I think about the maintenance involved along w/ the cost of keeping up w/ 2 vehicles and that is what makes me think about selling the ST1300 (paid-off but still means insurance, tires, all the stuff that you know about w/ maintenance).
There's a couple of guys involved w/ STOC that have Burgmans so I wouldn't be an outcast showing up w/ a Burgman and they don't care what you ride as long as you RIDE.

Thanks!

I've had 2 motorcycles (BMWs) for years and I bought my Burgman to replace my airhead. I also have a BMW R1200CLC I plan on using for trips as it has cruise control and CD player with a radio (and heated seats and heated grips, etc). Since I got the Burgman, I have to make myself ride the BMW. The expense of a 2nd motorcycle is not that bad because tires and other things don't wear often because you don't ride it much. My tagstaxes, and insurance is under $200 per year where I live. It's nice to have a backup when you need it or a riding friend visits.
