I found this bag on display at the Atlanta Cycle World show and it fits perfectly on my 400. Problem is that no one carries them and can't be ordered directly from Givi. The price is $89.00 plus tax plus $13 shipping which makes it a bit expensive. Anyone know where to get this for less?

I take it that you already contacted Givi USA rather than just looking on their web site? I did a web search and didn't find any US listings. If you haven't already, contact Givi USA at :

I did not contact GIVI myself but I assumed that you would have to be a dealer to purchase from them directly.

Well, I didn't know that. I will make it a point to contact them. Thanks for the info.

Now if I could just get that avatar thing to work. Everything I try to use is too big. One of these days I'll get it right.

I went ahead and emailed Givi asking if the T435 was available in the USA yet or not. If you're having problems getting a pic to work as an avatar, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help.

Sandberg, not only can you order direct from GIVI in Charlotte, but if you need a trunk or windshield and want to ride to their distro center they will install it FREE. Pretty good deal as the trunks are a bit of work to do.
You'll have to schedule it tho as trunk installation takes a couple hours. Super folks...we talked to a nice (and nice looking) lady named Phaedra.
She took several trunks outside to hold up to the scoots to let us see which suited us best. Email her for details.

Response from Givi via email :

The T435 is not available in the US and will not likely be imported due to lack of popularity/demand. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Kind Regards,
GIVI USA, Inc.

So... it's not here because it's not popular/in demand. And it's not popular/in demand because it's not here. What kind of business sense is that... :?:
It does sound quite silly. And they aren't saying what they really mean. What they mean is that they are not willing to invest in importing, advertising, and getting it placed in distribution channels here, because they "think" demand wouldn't justify that. And between the lines they are saying that scooters haven't attained sufficient popularity in the USA yet to justify importing specialty items for them. Yet they do carry the windscreens and topbox mounts - so I guess we are back to "silly".

I think we can just award Givi with a "shame on you" for this one. :?

My thoughts exactly. I suggest that a "few" emails might show some interest in this product. And if there was no plans to make it avaiable in the US, why would they have shown it at Atlanta Cycle World show? :?

I will be going down to Daytona where Givi always has a big display and they sell everything from there. If I see the bag I guess I will try to buy it or ask why he is showing it if I can't. It was a neat bag!

I ordered this bag from Tejas motorsports in Highlands Texas (Houston)- It took almost 2 months, but I got it today. It is a great lil bag. I wish Givi would allow dealers to keep it in stock.

Hey that looks really nice, Dondee! You say in the pic that you made some straps, instead of using the velcro. Where do you connect the straps to? (I'm presuming you don't have to deface anything to make the hookup?).

Also, how do you mount when it's on? Do you swing over like traditional motorbike, or do you lift/remove the bag, step through, then reassemble the bag (is this even feasibly simple, since that's how I would have to do it, since I can't lift/swing over).

Thanks for posting the pic! :D

GD, one of the pics shows my hand and a D ring, those are attached to the leg shield screw above your toe when mounted. No Burgies were harmed during the process :) Enlarge the pics, they are large enough to see serious detail and on some there's text too.
I mount by standing on the board and swing over, that takes less leg lift. I have sat on the seat sidesaddle and grab my leg and swing it over the bag also. I think some practice and experimentation will reveal the best method for you  Heck, my technique may change over time too!

Ya know if you use the velcro, taking the bag off and replacing for mounting would be much simplified. I think
