I refuse to pay $15.00 for the OEM Oil Filter that used to cost $7.00, so I started looking for alternatives.

There seems to be a good number of choices out there and they seem to have been tried and used by a number of 650 owners with great success.

I opted for the EMGO 1055660 in the end based on a few recommendations from trusted parties on BUSA and other sources.

This particular filters seems to fit a lot of different Suzuki models and has had a good track history.

I originally bought one locally from my dealer at full MSRP for $5.95 so I could try it out. I then order 5 of them from Partzilla for $3.75 each plus $6.95 for s&h which brought the unit price to $5.14 each.

I change my oil every 4k miles now so this seems to be a very good alternative for my needs.

As usual spend your money on what you think is the best solution for your ride.

I put together a quick FYI doc which you can check here with lots of pics and a video which I will be adding soon:

FYI - Emgo 1055660 Oil Filter

It even fits the OEM Oil Filter Adapter / Wrench that I use to remove / install the OEM oil filter.

I only have a few hundred miles on this filter but no leaks or unusual compression issues as the dealer tried to warn me about when I place the order for the cheaper oil filter.

A few pics as usual with the video to follow soon:

Me use EMGO 10-55660 several year now and like LeDude do also change filter every oil change, every 4000-4200 mile, Excellent filter same dimension as OEM filter, weigh about same as OEM also. It have more paper element than OEM filter. Never have problem with this filter, it do excellent job. Purchase 4 or 6 filter per year from Partzilla plus have on shelf new OEM filter to compare other brand filter with.

Me also very happy Dave_J back !

RE: EMGO 1055660 Oil Filter

What about the wrong thread issue?
The OEM filter is the only one that matches perfectly.

Some install a $15 adapter so they can use other filters.
