I am having trouble with my front end wobbling while slowing down at low speeds. It seems to only do it while going under 25-30 and while I am slowing down. Any ideas what could cause this? The tire seems to have plenty of tread on it. Anything need to be greased or tightened?

Plenty of tread but how is the tire wear?

Look at the tire. Run your hand over it. See if it's worn evenly or if the wear pattern is irregular. Often under inflation will caused blocky wear on the tread. Very hard braking can add to this. This can cause a wobble at low speed. More often, the tire gets quite noisy.

Funny uneven wear I've had on all my front tires on both my bikes. The Bridgestones wore choppy while the Pirelli's wore down the sides leaving what looked raised a center ridge.

My 1st thing to check is the tire pressure, then the other things as well.

While your checking those items, check the steering head right away.

This may help, Steering Head Adjustment This uses the handlebar resistance as a gauge, instead of the steering nut torque.

I just do it by feel. The bottom line is, the front end should NOT just flop back and forth when on the centerstand with the wheel off the ground. There should be some slight resistance.

200-500 grams = 7 -17 oz.

If it's just started doing it check if you have lost a balance weight.

Is there another way to check the steering head if I don't have the gage as shown in the manual?
I was having the same problem on my old 650. At first the front end would wobble at high speed. My mechanic jacked the front end off the ground and found the steering head was much too loose. He tightened it and it developed a wobble at low speed just like yours. He eventually got it right. I feel sure this is your problem.

the fork oil has never been changed, will most likely look into that when spring time comes around. I will also check on the balance weight to see if there is any sign of one disappearing. Thanks again everyone.

Check your REAR tire closely as this can cause a low speed wobble in the frontend .Want to know how I know this ? I've had two Bridgestone rears delaminate and cause this at low speeds. I don't use them anymore !
Had exactly this problem. Front end wobble. Finally shed about a 6x4" piece of tread. Now darksiding. Now I'm sure it wasn't low tire pressure.

Thanks for confirming.
