Hey Norman, just got myself into a quandry...

If your '01 Burgman 400 has a carburetor, what year did they start putting Fuel Injection in the 400's? All the 400's in the States, and that goes WAY back to 2003, have Fuel Injection....

I believe 2003 was the first year of FI.

Speaking of wandering minds - when we were audiovoxing and talking about vacuum pipes - carburettors etc. I knew that there was vacuum associated with an ICE engine and carbs - what I meant was it ain't piped anywhere - is it - or does the ECU take a processed signal from vacuum?

The vacuum does indeed go to the ECM via the Air Pressure Sensor mounted on the right side of the engine. At least on the '03 650...

No vacuum hoses, huh? Did they internally route it? There's gotta be a vacuum somewhere. Especially on a carb, they're the king of vacs!

Yeah well the carb is bolted direct to the inlet manifold.
