This fire claim is everywhere in certain areas of the media but everything I’ve seen all tracks back to one politician’s tweet and a video of one vehicle which may or may not have been in a flood.
In my experience battery packs have to pass saltwater immersion tests plus 20 thermal shock cycles where the battery pack is heated to 90°C (190°F) and then quenched in 0°C saltwater to check the seal. It’s set out in a test standard.
(I don’t know how good Tesla (pictured) are at it , my experience is elsewhere)
Is there anything to support this from outside this one claim?
