Thanks guys, I'm all hunkered down.
Prior Boy Scout... Siempre Listo "be prepared" and prior US Coast Guard... Semper Paratus "always ready" I may be uncomfortable for a spell, but I'll survive. Looking forward to helping others in my neighborhood that may be in need.
Did you ever visit the Coast Guard Station in Yankeetown, Fl ?

Hoping everyone is ok. Our local power company has about 200 crews on the way to help, as I'm sure many others from around the country.
Texas is sending help and I’m sure The Cajun Navy will land.

The news said Ian was one of the top 10 most powerful storms to have hit Florida. I wonder if there will be loss of life.
Sadly yes to loss of life. I heard it’s ranked in the Top 5 and the damage is on par with Hurricane Katrina. Only time will tell ….

mikey said that he thought he’d lose power and cell service and I think it’s been 20hrs since we’ve heard from SemBurg.

Godspeed to all our Costal Friends

Jimmy Patronis
Florida Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “There are many EVs in Southwest Florida, and unlike a normal gas engine, saltwater corrodes those lithium batteries causing fires. While EVs are nothing new, there hasn’t been a lot of experience throughout the nation related to EVs catching fire as a result of salty, storm surge water. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently coordinating with area fire teams to see whether additional assistance is needed from the State to respond to these potential fires.”

Ever since the Commercial Pilot Union Magazine published an article about recent mandatory medical procedures… I’ve been using a free app called Flightradar24 and one of the features is to alert me to “Squawk 7700”

They say there used to be about three Squawks a month now it has grown to over three or more per day. I have mine set up to alert me with a Sexy Female Flight Attendant voice and when it goes off while I’m on the phone the other person thinks I’m calling from a plane….

I think once you designate a plane for hire or commercial a transponder is part of the required gear?

The guy in the interview sure didn’t look or sound like a flooring salesman
