Angel and I just got home from a super weekend of riding for a wonderful cause. The Florida’s Ride for Kids for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation was held this weekend at Dunnellon, Florida. Saturday about 20 of from our motorcycle club rode (130 miles) through the back roads of Southwest Florida from Sarasota to Crystal River where we moteled for the Sunday ride. During today's ride I would guess there were 200-300 bikes for a 50 mile LEO escorted ride through the scenic farm land and horse country.
Of course the best part was the monies raised for the Pedantic Brain Tumor Foundation. About $75,000 was raised by the various motorcycle clubs and individuals. Our club, Haps Gulf Coast Riders, from Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida, raised about $35,000. It is the single charity that we sponsor and all our members work hard all year to raise money.
(Pardon me if this should have been posted on the rides board but I thought more folks would see it here)
