I'm getting getting ready to buy a 400 the two I'm relating between are a 2003 with 7700 miles on it for 1500 dollar and a 2007 with 11000 miles on it for 2500 dollars. My question is are these decent deals and second what are the major difference between the two bikes. What I have found is that the 07 is fuel injects and might have a dual support on the rear tire, anything I should know and watch for?

Thank you much,

Mark

yup, 2003 don't have enough miles, to have been ridden and maintained properly, 2007 just barely does, too low mileage means maybe leaks due to dry seals rubber dry rots fluids get condensation bugs get in holes, especially in florida, at those prices if I were mechanically able, I'd buy both fix them up and put the wifey on one , follow behind her and see what interesting parts flapped in the breeze :angel8:

If wifey has more than 50,000 miles on her - I am guessing the upper arms to be flapping in the breeze........:eek:

Go for the 2007, then get on here and study the maintenance guides and videos, after a good day in the driveway making sure it's ok, you should be ready for thousands of fun, trouble free miles.
+1:thumbright: 07 & I'd offer $2,000 & meet somewhere in between.;)

I agree with the other recommendations to go for the 2007. Let us know what you end up purchasing and be sure to post pics! :p

I would get the 03 as cheap as I could. I would not worry about dry seals to much. If the owner is elderly theres the reason he just did,nt ride it. Get the 03 ,don't baby it and see if you like it or want a bigger one.

They are both good buys. I would base my decision on condition and the one that I liked the best. The only thing they have in common is the Burgman name. The 400 is a big scooter and the 650 is a medium sized motorcycle.
