I was told today by my dealer that they or another dealer must do the first 600 mile service or I will void the warrantee on my Burg, and after the first is done at a Suzuki dealer then I do not have to bring it to a dealer anymore for service. Is this true?

The Magnusson Moss Act makes it illegal for any manufacturer to require that you have service performed by a dealer....... as long as you retain evidence (receipts) that service was performed. The Act also makes it illegal to void your warranty if you install aftermarket parts.

Dealers like doing warantee work. It guarantees that they'll get paid. When my 600 miler came due, the dealer was against the wall with a housefull of bikes. They said that they'll pretty much go along with me if I do my own work, but they would like me to try to keep a log with receipts. :) Yeah, I do that anyway.
