I picked up my 04 650 Saturday and got to ride it for the first time yesterday. WOW. It was worth the wait. I love it. What fun. One early problem someone can help me with. I am 6' 5'' and 260lbs. with a bad back. The stock seat will have to go. What do you think would work best for me. Thanks again to this site as that was how I was able to fine my Burgy.

Bill welcome , There a blast to ride i have an 03 model. Sounds like you need the Corbin saddle standard. I have it now and Im 5'11" and it sit's to far back for me,I feel like im reaching for the handle bars. I just ordered the close version yesterday. And will be selling the standard model for a decent price,When the new one arrives. The seat has about 800 miles on it, Check out the Corbin Seats . Enjoy your new ride

Bill,

If you can afford it, go with the Corbin seat. In the meantime, remove that adjustable butt stop (back rest) entirely. This will give you a couple more inches of leg room. I am 6'6" with a 34" inseam. I removed the butt stop and then had my seat recovered at a local auto upholstery shop. It turned out pretty nice, but I think the Corbin is a superior seat. The Corbin hadn't been released though at the time I modified my seat (and the cost of recovering my seat was less than half of what a Corbin seat goes for).

Congratulations on the new Burgman 650 Bill. If price is not an issue, take a look at the Corbin seat. Recovering the existing seat without the backrest is another option. One thing about the Corbin... if you ever sell the Burgman, you can put the stock seat back on and sell the Corbin seperately to recoup some of your cost.

You have received good advice with respect to the Corbin solution. However, what is your problem specifically with stock seat is it an ergonomic thing (lack of leg room) OR does your back need just a bit more support - if the latter then a Utopia backrest or a Jac Vinson modification may be a more appropriate and cost effective solution.
Use the search facility on the emboldened words - should do it.

Corbin Seat

I need both more leg room and a back rest so its looks like the corbin if what I need. Thanks for the responses and all of the good wishes. Loved the second day on the Burgy. Life is good.
