THIS JUST MY OPINION ONLY: I got a brand new 2008 in 2010 for $5,800 and that was the dealer cost!!! He showed me the factory invoice.. Keep looking......Local dealer has a 2009 AN 400 with 1900 miles for $6K. Or new2013 out the door for list ($8K). What's your opinion?
FWIW, I just bought a 2008 400 with 4600 miles, a Givi w/shield, and a back rest for $3600.Local dealer has a 2009 AN 400 with 1900 miles for $6K. Or new2013 out the door for list ($8K). What's your opinion?
I think you can do better. For example, there's currently a white '11 400 with ABS and only 1720 miles in St. Louis, Missouri (Perhaps a do-able distance for you to pick up?) with a Buy It Now price of $5150 from an individual.Local dealer has a 2009 AN 400 with 1900 miles for $6K. I wouldn't consider either one because of the price. The 09 is way overpriced and the new one will depreciate very quickly I bought a 08 almost a year ago with 9,000 miles on it for $3,200. It was a great ride until it was totaled by an old man who hit me in the rear in July. The insurance company was a problem with offering me a low price. I got a fair price from them because I did a lot of research and confused them with facts. I was an insurance adjuster for almost 32 years and I knew how to make my case. The average person would have been at a great disadvantage dealing with the insurance company. If you bought either one at their price, you would lose a lot of money if they were totaled or you decided to sell or trade them.Local dealer has a 2009 AN 400 with 1900 miles for $6K. Hi. I'm considering buying a used 05 Burgy 400S. It's listed at a dealer for $3500. Is that a fair price?
The convenience and comfort level of buying local is important and worth a lot to many people, especially if they are still working or have health issues. I live in the sticks so local to me is within a hundred miles as there were no Burgmans of any kind within the same area code. I'm retired and don't mind traveling to buy something. I got a good buy on my 09 but it was almost 500 miles away from me (I had to visit a daughter within 50 to 70 miles of it anyway). It's expensive to drive a truck almost 1,000 miles to pick up a scooter and considering other expenses, you can pay a premium for a local buy.You know, the bike is worth what you will pay for it and what the present owner/dealership will accept for it. Pure cut, plain and simple. I paid too much for my '09 Executive from what I read here. But then again, I personally know the dealer I purchased it at and knew his prices run high. The bike was also without a single blemish of any kind and only had 2000 miles on it. I could have found a Burgman cheaper but I would have had to travel to buy and with my medical issues I would have had to trailer it home. I decided that it was worth the extra money to just have a good bike that I could take home without hassle.
You do have to think about everything to decide how much you are willing to pay...
