Yesterday my local dealer, Harbour City Motorsports, told me that there will be 5 Executive 650 Burgmen for BC and he's getting one of them. So far it's not spoken for but he expects it will be sold before it arrives. Today he didn't know when ti expect it or even what colour it will be. It looks like it will be about CAN$1000.00 more than the standard 650. I'm hoping to at least look at it before it goes out.

THAT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!

Not only do you get the good weather in BC, now you are getting Executives!! Plus Victoria was named by some book as being the best place in North American to retire!

GEESH!
I rode a Skywave LX last week for several days. That's the same as the Executive. Excellent bike! Whoever buys it will love the ABS and the electric mirrors :D
I don't think the electric mirrors would be much use to me but I would like the ABS and electric windshield. Oh well, my 650 is just a year old and I know I wouldn't get away with trading it in. I hope the Exec goes to a good home.
Hi Wes,

Talked to Colin at Savage Cycle and he says he has an Executive coming in March also. Sounds like Suzuki Canada has been listening to us  & has decided to test the waters. :)

I hope this bodes well for the future. If I hadn't bought my bike in November, I would definitely be putting my money down now for the Executive.

Hey Alburg...here is your chance to buy a AN-650A (Executive)!

Cheers! 8)

I bet he isn't sleeping at night, just laying there thinking about how he can get his hands on one.

It would be great if he bought it so we can try it out before buying an '06 model next year.

Can I buy one in Canada and bring it to the US to register?

Is it possible to bring one to the US and get it registered with little fuss? Also, does the Executive in Canada have the overdrive, outside temp gauge and fuel consumption meter? :?:

I doubt very much you'll be able to grab one of the few coming here this year. It's quite likely they'll be all sold before they arrive. If you did, however, I believe there are a lot of hoops they'll make you jump through to get it certified for the US. That's likely the reason it's being brought to Canada and not the US, that it's EUro-spec and doesn't comply.
Wes,
I think that you will find that the Canadian specs and the American non California specs are the same, with Canada having daytime running lights as an additional requirement. Generally, as I remember it, the only difference in legal specs was the daytime running lights and the two countries share all the other specs for motor vehicles. It may take longer and cost more to get it approved in the US and that could be the reason. I think that owners in both countries have been yelling for equal treatment.

Seeker,
All the 2005s will have the overdrive and temperature gauge, I don't know about the fuel consumption gauge.
There has been some talk in other forums about some law in the US that requires a foot operated brake and this is causing a problem for the importing of new maxis. I don't know if this is true or not but might have some bearing on the Executive coming to CA but not US. (or not).
The other problem you would have buying a Canadian model is that it displays Kilometers only and not miles. That could cause you registration problems stateside.

Hey Brian, at least your Coast Guard Cutters have a big gun on the foredeck. :D

Our C.G. basically just does aids-to-navigation stuff...guns? - what guns?. :( And if they did have a gun, they would probably have to have it registered in our new Billion $ plus gun registry. (ya, you heard it right! A billion dollars & climbing!) Only in Canada!

Mmmm, maybe if we didn't waste all this money on the gun registry (that won't prevent one death) we'd have enough money to buy our C.G. buddies some guns for their ships. :D
