1) I have ridden my to the bottom of the red zone and had about 3 tenths of a gallon left. I would not recommend riding to that point.

2) middle is normal

3) I would have it checked.

1. I've been averaging my MPG since I been riding the 400 and get just over 60 MPG. Based on a 3.4 gallon tank, it should be able to do 205 miles on a full tank. I allow for 175 miles per tank as a safety margin. The closest I've gotten was 167 miles and the needle was midway in the red on the fuel gauge.

2. My temp guage stays in the middle unless it's a very hot day and I'm in a traffic jam. On those occasions, It's gone 10-20% over the middle but settles back once moving again.

3. Is the odometer alternating showing Fl? Take it to the Suzuki dealer ASAP! See the AN400 owners manual pages 20 and 21.

Uhm,

A "FI" warning means there's something wrong with your fuel injection system. Apparently the bike will still run but not optimally. I would unlock and lift the seat and remove the cover under the front part of the seat and take a look around. You should see the air box and if you are brave remove the air box see if there are any dangling wires? Check the cabling that reach into any of the black boxes as well. Maybe the leads into the fuel injection computer have come loose?? Let us know when you find out. Timothy

The references I use at each fuel gauge mark is as follows:

1. Fill gas to neck of filler without touching bottom of cap.
Reset either Tripometer to gauge mpg.

2. When needle reaches first mark (F) at least 25-30 miles should be shown on tripometer.

3. At midway (half mark) at least 90-100 miles should have elapsed on tripometer.

4. At top mark of Red Area at least 140-150 miles should show on tripometer.

5. Red Area is approximately last 50 miles.

---

The mid way area of Temp gauge is normal.

---

If an FI error still allows the bike to run, then it's okay to run it. If an FI error
doesn't allow the engine to run, you don't want to run it anyway.
