In my work I must open small black terminal boxes. Most times all is OK. But on others I will open the terminals and it is full of Yellow Jacket hornets. We have a spray that is very fast kill and if you can spray them fast enough you do not get stung. Saturday I was working with a young installer and he opened a box and they were in his face before he could react. It was amazing that he did not get stung. NOT one.

But I was about 40 feet away and before I could get in my truck, got hit 3 times. I am a sick puppy. It effects me for about 5 days.I get that stinging burn in more parts of my body like I had been stung there too.

smash and wet a tobacco product, the nicotine, held against the sting site neutralizes the poison, this i know from experience, your reaction might be a sign of a more serious problem like developing an allergy, an epi pen might be needed.

Wasp and bee stings means a fast trip to the ER for me. I keep the Epipens near me at all times during the Spring, Summer and Fall as I am HIGHLY allergic to those flying insects. Dave, I hope you get over your reactions soon.
