Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.

I just bought a 2011 B650 Executive with 9,300 miles on it, in excellent condition

The owner told me the scooter was caught on the last year's hurricane in Florida.

He told me that after the flood the bike started to make a funny noise and that he took it to the Dealer and was told that the CVT bearings needed to be replaced.

He's going back to Canada and did not want to deal with the situation.

I went to see the scooter but I could not hear anything wrong since I never owned one before.

I've bought it for the right price and will be taking it to my mechanic soon.

Any light anyone wants to share regarding this problem?

I could probably do it myself but due to my back problems I dont think I should.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a flooded 650. Would be similar to buying a flood damaged car. Likely must have all the fluids changed as well as all the bearings inspected, cleaned and re-greased or replaced as needed. Not just the CVT bearings. Any CVT bearing noise might be hard to hear unless you were an experienced owner and know what it should sound like. There are some noises that are normal and some that are not. Sounds like the previous owner was up front about there being a possible problem. The CVT in the Burgman 650 is one of the very few items that NORMALLY needs much attention other than the air filter. But when there is a rare problem with this particular CVT it can be a major repair. The dealer would need to drop the engine out of the frame just to inspect the bearings and other bits in the CVT. Then they would, SHOULD, check closely any other bearings and parts inside the engine, and clutch, and reduction gear set (transmission), and final drive gear train, and wheels, and... due to the likely water damage.

welp yer stuck using a dealer due to your back situation, so my best advice is to make dang sure your dealer has serviced 650's before, not just take his word for it, also if he is legit, let him know about this site, we can help him as much or maybe more than a suzuki engineer , an I promise I won't tell him to have a refreshin beverage while workin on it (maybe) where are you ? maybe we have someone close you can compare noises with

you can purchase any bearing but 1 in your cvt.
with a little help from David_J you find a place in italia where they sell cvt, contact them
for the primary pully assy on its own and they will give you a great deal

the only problem you going to find in a flood is your electronics, plugs, connectors, etc
It's pain trying to work out why this and that does not work, was working yesterday! LOL
