Ok,
As some know, I went to a NAPA store and bought the missing 4 mounting bolts and installed the Corbin. I have 3 DIFFERENT e mails, all from Oneida stating if I pay return shipping to Corbin direct they will either rpair, OR replace my seat and I will, OR Corbin will pay return shipping back to me as well, depending on WHICH e mail from 3 DIFFERENT Oneida reps?.....I have e mailed AND called Corbin for 2 straight days for what would REALLY happen if I return the seat to them as Oneida demands. NO ANSWER!!!! I get put on voice mail etc. I do not want to send this thing ANYWHERE without a straight answer. So, I have decided to do the following.
A friend and customer of mine owns an upholtery shop. Just found out today he specializes in Custom Motorcycle seats. He looked at my little 1/2" tear and laughed. Said to take the seat off and give him $20.00 and a day to fix it. DONE Deal! Will give it to him next week. He ALSO said I should give him my stock seat to "rework". I will also do that next week. No matter HOW it turns out. Why?
I am 6'2" tall but with only 29" inseam. Don't mind my feet not being flat footed at stop lights, but the Corbin ALSO pushes you BACK 2-3 inches. I have adjusted my handle bars and ridden 300 miles in 2 days TRYING in vain to not be leaning forward ala crotch rocket. NO dice. The seat will just not work for me I fear? I will see what he can do with my stock seat. IF he can create the same type "bucket" you sit "IN" like with a Corbin, I'll sell my new Corbin if anyone is interested? Will give it a couple weeks to sort all out.
Two things have changed FOREVER. As a customer of Corbin's for 20+ years AND as a customer of Oneida since they BEGAN, I QUIT BOTH OF THEM Forever, PERIOD. I will be just a small dent (if even that) to their business, but I am DONE with these companies. As far as I am concerned, Oneiday may even have some scam going to send me a used of "defective" seat they pick up cheap then stiff Corbin??? I just don't know but NEITHER of them return my calls OR e mails. SCREW EM BOTH!
If anyone wants my Oneida $20.00 "Discount Coupon", let me know, I'll give it to ya, Mike
