It's been three months since the last cleaning.
Not too bad this time, I think my case mod helped (more air in + more air out = less dust inside)
It's a 2008 without the revised air snorkel on the case cover.

Oh- Before you clean the case, BUY the following:
Four M4 x 0.7 thread x 10mm socket-head (hex) screws
Four 4mm washers

To replace those stupid Phillips screws that hold the variator together. Put a dab of never-seize on them too. Throw the stupid Phillips head screws into a landfill where they belong.

Life is good :)

When you measure the belt, I assume the pertinent width is the minimum, I mean NOT at the ribs. Mine is 24.7mm at 14000 miles. Not bad :)

I have heard this discussed a few times but I don't really know what was revised on the case cover.
Can someone explain?
I have a 2012 400, but I've only seen few other 400's in person so I'm not really sure what people are talking about.
Thanks!

The little black cover, over the CVT air intake, was changed to include a connection to a hose which begins up under the foot board.
Apparently Suzook changed to this modern design due to cooling issues of the belt etc.
Your 400 should have the updated cover with snorkel on it. :)
I have cut away the cover of mine which faces forward, to allow more air in, also drilled seven 3/4 inch holes in it. Same reason.
And other mods. All to allow more air in and out.
