Ok i got it. I set SELECT on Miles per gallon (MPG) and I push ADJUST for 2 seconds. Yep easy when you know it
Thanks everyone!

I tried it and it changed my MPG to "MPG Imp", but did not change the temp to Fahrenheit. I tried to change the MPG back to US and it would not change back.

Any other ideas?

Sorry I do not have a 2011 which is different from mine and the service manual was useless on the subject. :(

I looked in my 05 owner's manual that's laying here on the desk and can't find anything in it about how to change the temp from F to C. I also didn't find anything about changing the mpg indicator. Only thing I could find was for changing the speedo from MPH to KPH. That was the procedure already mentioned except it said to hold the reset button for 2 seconds when in "speedometer display" what ever being in "speedometer display" means. Maybe it's a type-o and they meant odometer display mode.

Don't suspect the 07 owner's manual will say anything different but I could go out to the shop and retrieve it off the bike if you want.

I tried holding the reset (select on 2011) button in the odometer mode and it did change the MPH to KPH. At least I how how to change that if it happens.

I was thinking maybe it is a +2009 thing since they changed the dash display but the pre-2009 650s had F-C temps and MPG US-Imp so it should not make a difference. If you do not mind, look in the shop manual to see if you see anything.

Thanks

Nothing in the service manual either.
Yup the service manual I have covers 2011 but only shows the cluster and connector pin outs but doesn't describe function or changing settings.

As I suspected the 07 owner's manual doesn't have any more to say on the subject than the 05 manual did. Even still has the reference to "speedometer display".

My owners manual says when you change from mph to km/h when pressing the select button for two seconds the temp will also change from F to C. I just went out and tried it on my 2012 the odometer needs to be displayed and when the odometer changes if you go back and look at the temp display it will be in C mode.

I tried it again as you described, but the temp and MPG still reads C and Imp. I changed it a couple of times and the temp and MPG would not change back to F and MPG US.

Did you get the temp to change back to F?

The owners manual for my 2012 shows MPG IMP and as I read it there is no way to change the temp readout to F with that displayed. Is this 650 a non US scooter? Not sure but doesn't IMP mean Imperial gallon, no mention in the book to change from from that.

It was purchased new in FL by the original owner.

Maybe the Imp changes when the temp changes back to F. I a pretty sure that the MPG did not have the Imp on it before I noticed the temp being set on C. However, I never pay any attention to the MPG readings because they are not accurate.

Are you able to change the temp from F to C and C to F with the method you posted?

Yes I can change back and forth from C to F and back with the instructions in the owners manual. The owners manual shows MPG US with MPH F and KM/H C... Next paragraph shows MPG IMP with MPH C KM/H C no documentation in the book on how to get from MPG IMP to MPG US

If pressing the one button doesn't step through MPH/F to MPH/C to KPH/C and back over again does pressing the other button go back through it the other way?

I tried it and pushing the adj button (the other button) did nothing. I am surprised that changing the speedo from MPH to KPH does not change the temp and MPG at the same time. The ODO changes with the speedo change.

I am beginning to think it is malfunctioning, since MrWicks 2012 will change the temp with the speedo MPH to KPH change.

Maybe if I disconnect the battery overnight and try it again in the morning, it will reset. I tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes but it still would not change the temp to F.

Problem solved.

"Push the select button to get to MPG mode, press and hold for two seconds the "select" button.

I re-read the posts and maybe somewhere in them someone said to do this and I did not understand it.

The dealer gave me a page print out off the their computer that had the instructions. Points for my local dealer. My dealer also mounts CTs and gives good prices on bikes.

Thanks to everyone who helped.
