Did you add a vacuum reservoir? Cause according to this site http://www.murphskits.com/catalog/produ ... cts_id=422 a vacuum reservoir isn't included in the base kit. You would probably need a reservoir and check valve.

Mr.MJR,I ADDED A VACCUM RES.ON IT,WHERE WOULD A CHECK VALVE GO,THANKS.FREDDY.
A vacuum check valve should be between the vacuum source and the reservior, then the reservoir goes to the cruise control servo.

Hey Freddy,

Here is an idea. If you have a local salvage yard, go looking for your vacume one-way valve there off of a used car.
You may also find a vacume reservoir there.

If you are into do-it-your-self type projects or, space is a consideration, you can make one fairly easy in the size you need.

Go to the store and purchase a TIN can, (Aluminum cans will collapse), of any liquid in the size which will fill your need. (Juice, broth, etc.)
Drill a small hole in the can and empty the contents into another container or use them right there.
Rinse out the can and glue a hose adapter to the can with gorilla glue or epoxy. (Hose adapters are available in any car parts store.)
If your space is very restricted, you can use two small cans and set them up with a "T" connector.

I have one made from a juice can under the hood of my car which has lasted for 16 years. (My old one cracked and they wanted $67 for a new one.)

Gambit...

Mr. Cliff will I need it if I go with a pump and a vaccum control switch.Thank you very much.Freddy.
The vacuum pump likely has one already, though without knowing the specific model I cannot say for certain. In any event it will not hurt.

Most likely however is that the pump is not needed. The CCS-100's vacuum needs are modest at all times and particularly so at a steady load such as going up a hill, when the speed control servo is being held in a more or less fixed position. So just having the check valve between the manifold port and the vacuum canister would probably do the trick...

With the amount of work needed for an electric servo cruise control, I'm glad not to have the extra hassle of dealing with vacuum.

If you have time to wait, there's always an unused set somewhere to pick up cheap, as the person who bought it found out he was in over his head.

Having done the install on an audiovox ccs-100, I can say it's an involved process. And that was without the vacuum pump. With is even more so. Though you can run it without, having the vacuum pump takes the learning curve out of it. See this thread here for more information on it -> viewtopic.php?f=4&t=51366

I'll be going Rostra or another electric servo next time.
