Is the 385cc 400 with it's Small Wheels capable of, on a Regular Basis,
carrying a 200 Pound Person Up an Un-Evenly Surfaced 40' Degree
Grade without any drama or is this a task better suited to the more
powerful 650?

If, during the Break-In period, the reccomended RPM's were to be
Exceeded while ascending this 40' Degree Grade, would that cause
serious damage to the 400??

Dunno about the 40 degree grade. My Burgman 400 hauls my 225 pounds around the hills of Tennessee without a problem. I've ridden it on some pretty poor roads including a few dirt roads. Anytime you're putting a heavy load on a bike, the bigger engine will handle it better. I'd suggest getting a test ride on a 400 and see for yourself.

Most people have told me to ignore the break in procedures in the manual and ride it normally. They did STRONGLY suggest varying the RPMs during the break in period.

LOL!!! That hill was 35 degrees on your Yahoo Group post, so it seems to be getting steeper and steeper. Get the Hummer.

Just pullin' yer chain. I have no idea if any scooter will work out for you under those conditions.

Peace.

Well lets pick that apart a little
#1 the 200 lb person means very little to the 400 I out weight you by 60 lbs and do 75 easy
#2 the 400 is not a dirt bike but for the last 3 months the roads in town have been dirt & rock while they try to figure out how to resurface them, the 400 has no problem

As far as breakin in goes, I think billmeek covered it well. :)

Thanks for the info all!

"Bleeder", I'm afraid you totally lost me with your comment
"That hill was 35 degrees on your Yahoo group post". Huh???

Up until just now, I didn't even know that there was a
Burgman forum at Yahoo. (But thanks for mentioning it)

I think maybe your confusing me with someone else. :?
