Living in the great Commonwealth of Massachusetts we get to have our cars - and I guess our bikes as well - outfitted with CA emission equipment. I think there are 11 states that do that now including every state in New England except New Hampshire - Live Free Or Die. I believe that the only difference between the E-03 model - federal version - and the E-33 - CA version - is a vapor recovery canister and a sticker inside the left side of the luggage compartment showing the vacuum routing.

My last bike - a Piaggio MP3 400 - had a similar vapor recovery system on all their US bikes and was know to cause poor drivability after awhile so many owners disconnected them. Anyone had a problem with this system on a Burgman? Don't seem to be any complaints when I do a search.

Good to hear.

BTW - when my Burgman was delivered I never received any info about warranties. The owner's manual mentions a separate book I didn't get that contains info on the warranties. I know about the one year/unlimited parts and labor but I assume there is also an emission warranty that covers the muffler/catalyst, oxygen sensor, vapor canister and even the fuel injection - how long does that last for?

George

Let me check to see if there is anything about that in my 650 manual. Even at the tractor dealership I work at, Ca. engine emissions are for 5 years.

I called Suzuki and asked about the emission warranty. They said they don't include a copy when you purchase a new bike but it should be available on-line. After keeping me on hold for awhile the customer service rep came back and said he couldn't find the on-line version anymore so he would send me a copy which I received today.

The emission waranty for a Burgman is 5 years or 18,641 miles, whichever comes first. This is for both the Federal and California versions except the CA version gives a lot more detail about what items are covered. What is interesting is that only CA emission bikes that are registered in CA are covered by the CA warranty. In MA my CA emission Burgman is covered by the Federal warranty unlike my Subaru which is still covered by the CA warranty even in MA - not sure this really makes any difference about what they would fix and I hope I never have to find out.

I made a pdf of the warranty booklet you can download if interested - it's not copywrited - in fact it was suppose to be on-line for download from Suzuki.

Did you try the download link on the top right located in the blue banner?

Clicking on the pdf icon itself won't work.

Thanks, I would never looked up in the blue banner for the download. I tried clicking on the pdf itself and it didn't work. Didn't go back and click in the blue banner until I read this here.
