Hello everyone,
Just got my 2003 650 in July and love it. Did the diesel mod on it and now it sounds great.
I was out for a ride and was stopped at a light. The light changed and I started off and the bike stopped dead.
Total electrical failure, not even the clock. I got it home and checked the fuse which was good checked the battery, lots of juice. Started to check ground and power wires when I noticed the clock on.
I turned the key and it started right up. That makes it hard to find the problem when there isn't one now.
Does anyone have any ideas what might have caused the failure and maybe where to look.
Thanks
Gary

Check the electrical connectors and wires under the battery box/tray look for excessive heat discoloration.

That, or could be the ignition-switch contacts, too, right?
