Hi,

received my second hand Burgman (model 2007 with ABS) a week ago. And noticed moving the bike by hand was very difficult. I noticed the front wheel could be rotated very poorly. After further investigation noticed the brakes were always making noise. Removed one brake shoe, and noticed the pistons weren't moving. And did not go in by hand. Cleaned stuff up, got pistons out as far as possible and lubricated pistons. Was able to push them back in now, but not by hand. Normally, (at least on my Yamaha) pistons can be pushed in by hand. So my guess is there is something wrong with the rubber ring in the piston chamber. Anyone who has ever done maintenance on those brake shoes and can confirm my suspicion? Thx.

welcome to the forum and the 650 family,

I would start by taking the caliper off and cleaning it and performing a brake fluid change first before doing anything else.

You can check my burgman center for the DIYs.

Did you remove some brake fluid before pushing back the pistons?
