Is replacing the brake lines necessary for a Burgman 650, 2008 with 6,000 miles on it? The rubber on lines now look perfectly fine. Thanks, mark

My '05-400 Owners Manual recommends replacing
brake lines at every 2-years service. My well-qualified
service tech inspected the lines, & said that, in his
opinion, I was OK. He also races dirt bikes, & said that
he has never replaced an undamaged brake line on
anything less than 10 years old. YMMV.......
Probably don't need to worry.

Thanks Duster....very helpful. I don't remember replacing any brake lines, even on cars if they don't look bad.

In AZ you have to sometimes because they just get worn out. I had to on my 03 400 because when I applied the brakes they would swell. I switched them to steel braided lines and it helped some.
