Holly and I hope to make this ride. She has just started a new job, so we have to limit the amount of time taken off. Part of the Cherohala collapsed this winter, but one lane is still open at this time. Del
Holly and I will be on this ride. We look forward to seeing everyone again.
Holly and I have made our reservations in Tellico Plains for Thursday night, June 13th, and we have made our reservations in Cherokee, NC for both Friday and Saturday nights. On Saturday we will ride with the group until lunch, then we are turning around and heading back down the Parkway to Cherokee. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting anyone we have not met before on the End-of-Summer or First-of-Fall Rides. See you all soon!! Del
We have arrived in Tellico Plains, and we beat the rain. Staying at the Lodge at Tellico, room 104. We ate lunch at the Tellico Grians Bakery and WOW, the sandwiches were large and great tasting. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. We have seen two other scooters riding around here. Ride safe, Del and Holly
After nine hours, Holly and I got home safe and sound. Why nine? Long stops at Nantahalla river and Ocoee river as well as one food break.
We put on around 900 miles in the four days, and while that does not sound like much to you iron-butts, it was a lot for us. Weather was fantastic and the scenery was out-of-this-world.
We only wish we had stuff like that around here.
Thanks to Anthony for getting everything scheduled. Ride safe out there to all our fellow scooterers and bikers. Del & Holly.
DandyDoug,
We took some pics, but very few. Mostly at Tellico Plains before the ride, maybe two pics, and the rest at the motel in Cherokee before Saturday's ride, perhaps two more pics. There was not a group picture taken, and we did not stop anywhere on the Cherohala or on the other rides to take pictures. My wife and I split from the group on Saturday after lunch, like we said we would in an earlier post, so that we could spend more time on the Blue Ridge, so I do not know if anyone took pictures after that. So our pics are rather boring. Sorry.
