I recently bought one of these items thru Amazon (filled by Rob's Cycle Supply). Unfortunately, it will not work on my 2008 Burg 400.

The glove box door will still not close. I pushed the male socket as far as possible into the Burg's female receptacle but nothing worked. I pressed as hard as I could to try to close the glove box door but it was still a "no go". I'm curious about Suzuki's employee that decided it would be a great place for a cig lighter/power socket - moron?

And to complicate things, I returned the unit back to Rob's and so far, almost a week and a half after they rec'd it back in new condition, my credit card has yet to be refunded the amount.

Sorry......BUT I think that the location of the "power port" on the 400 was designed by a different "team of morons" than the team that designed the power port location for the 650......................

Yall would love gloveboxes in the old 400's as any and all plugs fit in our 12 Volt dc sockets. :D
Newer isn't always better.

Everyone knows about the power supply location issue...I don't know why people keep complaining about it when relocation is so much of a no brainer. I guess people just like to complain.

I was well aware of the socket location, that's why I bought this gadget - with the hope that it would work with the stupid socket location. To me, it looked like it would.

Unfortunately, I do not have the skill or physical ability (due to non-normal functioning hand) to change the location to a different one.

But I was able to work something else out so that I can use electrical devices directly from the battery with a wire/cable hanging out from the glove box door.

This is what I have and fits/works pretty well.

Yes, I did have to make a "notch" at the top edge of the glove box door so that the cable could be threaded through to the outside. I did not make the notch big enough so it chewed up the cable for my heated gloves. I will enlarge it when I can get off my butt and do it.

Fernando, thanks for the idea - I might purchase one of those devices so that I can use my GPS. Too bad that won't work for my Battery Tender or my heated gloves.
