In February I purchased a low-mileage 2011 Burgman 400, to complement my 2005 Reflex 250. I rode the 250 about 5000 miles last summer on local and multi-day trips and found that a raised backrest would greatly add to riding comfort. As a result I researched add-on backrests and came up with the MotorMate backrest bracket , which basically transformed the Reflex buttrest into a raised backrest using the bracket and the rest of the buttrest hardware. This made riding much more relaxing. The cost was $69, plus $12.50 shipping.
After acquiring the Burgman I knew I wanted to install some type of backrest but I wasn't sure what kind to get. After investigating the possibilities I had just about decided on the Bestbackrests product when I ran across a thread on the Bearcat Backrests. It looked to be very similar to the Bestbackrests product but was priced much more competitively. I sent an email to [email protected] inquiring about his product. I was surprised at the quick response I received from Brad (along with several pictures) and decided the Bearcat was the backrest for me. His price was $65 (shipping included). I sent him a personal check and had the backrest within four days. It was just what I had hoped for. I was able to remove the original buttrest and the Bearcat fit perfectly. I am looking forward to many hours of happy motoring, in comfort, because of the backrest. I would highly recommend considering the Bearcat if you are looking for an affordable, comfortable backrest.
