Hey, Just changed my battery last night, easy change out. I'm happy  to have gotten 4.5 years out of the OEM factory unit. Who out there holds the record for OEM battery before change-out? TIA diggerdog

Hmm, I've got 4.5 years and still going strong. I ride it all year long and almost always for at least 20 minutes so I guess it stays charged up. I'm contemplating adding heated gloves though so that might give it more of a workout.

4.5 years is reasonable and no one would quibble with that.
I sold my old Lardy with the original OEM battery still going fine - so 6 years.

I think everyone would get better battery life if the bikes were fitted with a MOSFET regulator/rectifier rather than the crude device fitted which I reckon can give the battery a bit of a battering. Of course, regular use, no short trips and the use of a quality battery tender all help.

My K3 400 has the original battery (date stamped 01/03) at 24,500 miles, still going strong. Kind of surprising, though I had a 1990 Miata in which the stock AGM battery lasted 12 years...
