Hi
Just bought my 3rd Burgman 650
Ran one of the new Honda NC700X DCTs until the shoulders gave out, so back to the old favourite again.
About 900 miles into a 2013 model in white.
The upgrades to the are quite noticeable; the handling is better, moving the thing round in the garage is so much easier, the clocks are better also.
I live in the Peak District, Derbyshire in the UK. Great biking country, Matlock Bath, which is 2 miles away, is a huge biker gathering point every weekend.
Been around bikes for some 50 years now and still going strong!
looking forward to interesting visits to the website.

Just wondering why the Honda was hard on your shoulders & the 650 isn't?
Oh & welcome back!

Hello from fly over country here in the states. I know what you mean about the Burgs, They are smooth and comfortable. Just did a 1000 miles in 24 hours this weekend. everyone was stiff and sore, I felt very well even with bad knees and bad hips. Oh yes that's why I bought the thing.

Hi Stuart

Welcome to the forum :hello2: and Congratz on the new 2013. (did you get a deal)?

Love the Peak District, but then I love the Yorkshire Moors, Lake District, Wales Scotland too - great biking roads as long as you avoid main routes. Just returned from a 6 day gentle tour of Wales. Withdrawl symptoms prevailed on my return to work today and day dreaming of some of the great days I had enjoyed.

Welcome to the forum but I'd love to hear your impressions of the NC700dct as it seems the only model of that worth even considering.
I really was less than impressed with the operation of the dct on the VFR1200 on the weekend.

Maybe a comparison with the 650 Burgman

I sat on the NC700X DCT and was not impressed by the ergonomics. The Burgman has much better ergo. After sitting on the NC700X DCT, I would not buy one for myself. Honda has done a lot of advertising and hype on this motorcycle. The NC700 forums are all raving about the NC700, so I do believe that it is a reliable and smooth motorcycle.

IMHO The Burgman 650 and 400 have much better seating position. There are many NC700X riders who I am sure really like their motorcycles. It is all personal taste. For a rider other than myself, the NC700 series may have better ergos than the Burgman

A Burgie has ergo of a good car -- it should be an exceptional bike to prefer it to the seating and ergonomics of the B. Personally i don't find such amongst mid size motorcycles. But it's good to have diversity
