As above. Starting to get more and more 'Baby Showers' over here in the UK. What's the story? Over here, it's considered bad luck to buy anything for a Baby before it's born. Still, people have them but do you also buy presents for the baby after its born as well? Just curious. :?

I'm 67 now, but can remember ' Baby Showers' even when I was a kid.
Back then, it seemed more of a ladies thing to help each other with
the expense of having a new-born. The women made little blankets
& sleeping gowns & other baby-things, for new Moms that couldn't
afford to buy these things. Gender-specific gifts were often given
after the birth, but generic gifts were given at the Shower.
There was no stigma in passing around used 'baby-stuff' that was
not currently being put to use.
Yep...pretty much an excuse for a Hen Party.
