Just curious how much riding y'all are doing this Winter season ?

Here in East Texas were blessed with above average temps.

Many days so far it's been in the 65 degree range +.

On those days, I nearly always ride.

And I always see other Cycle guys riding too.

So mild no real Winter ride gear is needed imho.

But pretty much ride in the daytime when sun is present gets chilly fast after sundown.

Happy New Year Everyone !

Not sure if I'm supposed to post in this forum since its for "Burgman 400 1999-2006"...and I own a Burgman 650. Might get better response in a forum more inclusive of ALL bikes.
Whereabouts in East Tejas are you David? I'm in the northwest corner of Louisiana...so our weather is same as yours most days.
I ride my 650 year round...mostly using it to commute back and forth between home and work. As long as temps are forecast above freezing you will find me in the saddle.
Happy trails to you my friend! And Happy New Year to you as well.....

We had a group of 12 ride on New Year's Day, which is becoming an annual riding event here as long as the pavement is clear. We hit parts of Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. Even found a couple of curves in Indiana, which is no mean feat.:D

In all of 2022 I may have rode 1,500 miles. Thats it. From 2001 thru 2015 I was putting 17,000++ miles per year on a bike, 2006 up on a Burgman 650

MOVED this to Tavern for all bikes, not just 400's.

Hey, I've got both a 650 and a 200 -- that averages out to near 400, right?

Oh, ok. :)

Riding almost daily here in Southern California, though I don't go out in the rain if I can help it these days.

Did a group ride on the 1st up above Malibu (B200), and another in Palos Verdes and the Beach Cities last Saturday (150 Vespa). The former was about 120 miles including getting to and from the ride, the latter maybe 35 all told.

Got rained on for about half an hour on the way back from the New Year's ride, but my not-taking-it-seriously rain gear was adequate. Last weekend's ride had pleasant (breezy, overcast, but rain-free) weather.

still a daily rider here unless it is brutally cold , like 68 degrees or below, then it's back in the car (or back in bed)

Admittedly riding has slowed dramatically this winter. Work gets in the way and won’t ride before dawn or after sunset in the winter in the Cincinnati area. On the weekends when roads are sure to be dry and clear I periodically choose to go out.
Rode recently for a couple hours when temps were in the low 40s(F) but a beautiful day. Coldest ride this year was about 30 minutes of 19(F). Brrr!

Looking forward to warming weather.

I also still ride, but not every day. I usually try to get out on 2 wheels at least once a week during this cooler season. I usually still get around 800-1200 miles in during Dec through April. We get some rain here too, but with temps below freezing much of the time it crystallizes and looks white and fluffy. I don't ride when that happens and for a few days after that until the special equipment our public works department uses pushes that stuff off the roads. I like clear dry pavement. When temps drop below freezing I turn on the heated grips and I also use handlebar muffs. So far this season (early December) I've been out at temps down to +6F and anticipate some rides in the next few months to be cooler than that. Likely below zeroF. I am looking forward to an annual gathering that happens here to meet up around the end of February at a location about 150 miles east of my home. Riders from IA, IL, WI and maybe other locations come for a RTE (Ride To Eat). Usually the road conditions are not the best so most show up on 4 wheels. I usually only attend if I can ride 2 wheels. Last year I was the only one on a bike. Don't know if this event will happen this year since no one has posted it yet.

Hardly any riding at all. This winter, the weather has sunk into the warm enough to ride except it rains a lot, or dry but too cold for me to ride pattern. That will change, maybe, starting in April. NE Ohio is not a year 'round riding part of the country except for the most hardy of crazies. I'm too old for that now.

We are expecting in the low 50sF Sunday and Monday. But also rain on Monday... Then colder and snow on Wednesday and Thursday. So any riding will happen in between all that. Today is daycare with the grand kids (every Thursday/Friday) so maybe I might get out for a ride tomorrow and/or Sunday, then maybe Tuesday, and then not for another week to 10 days after today just due to weather and grand kids (again). That's the way it's shaping up this cool season. Get out when I can regardless the temp but as long as the roads are clear and dry.

4.3 lbs, 9 weeks old, 18 naps a day (wish I could do that!), no bigger than one of my size 11 shoes. Oh, and needs to be taken outside (expecting +10F tonight) almost every hour, even all night long! Well, only every 3 hours at night but every hour during the day. Needs constant supervision for a while.
