Welcome fellow Georgian. You are just up the road from me. I am fixing to try and locate me a Burgman as well. If you don't mind me asking where did you find one and how good a deal did you get? Thanks.

Welcome to the BurgmanUSA forums ronniern. Glad to have you join us.

I highly suggest taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation basic rider course to any new rider. You learn a lot of very useful information and skills to keep you safe on the road. For more information on the MSF courses in GA see :

Welcome from Athens, Georgia!

Hey! Cool!

I bought my 650 back in June and I LOVE it! I wish I had more time on it. I bought it to replace my Miata as my daily driver but my commute is only about 4 miles each way. With the rain and all the stuff I have to haul around, I've been forced to drive my Chevy van way, way more than I like.

Anyway, I was freaked out about the motorcycle license test but it turns out to be a total piece of cake - and I am not an experienced (road) motorcyclist. In fact, the test is so easy that you'll be kinda scared - after it's over - that so little skill is required to get a motorcycle license. Just think of all those kids on crotch rockets and big ol' hawgs that got their license so easily. ;-)

Anyway, the Georgia Gang is building! By next spring, we ought to be able to stage our own Georgia Scootercade!

Al

BTW - even though I am a huge supporter of buying locally whenever possible, there are some incredible deals on jackets (with and without armor) and gloves on eBay. I bought a brand new, sweet, Shott leather jacket for $107 and a new Cortech Tourmaster winter jacket, with armor, for $46! Check it out.

Welcome to the forum! I will be riding my 650 out to visit a friend in Savanah with a possible stop at Ted's in TN (if he does the BBQ gathering and the timing is right) this Spring.

Perhaps we and any other local riders can meet up for a spin at that time?!?!?
