There has long been a fringe group of antique Italian scooter enthusiasts in the Seattle area but scooters remained a curiosity until just recently.
Now for something new & different, check out this link: http://www.soundrider.com/nwse/04PokerRun.htm
I've been riding motorcycles and scooters here in the Northwest since the mid-80s and I've never seen anything like this. Truth be told my motorcycle riding friends could never understand the scooter thing. I thought they were eminently suited to the vagaries of our predominant local weather phenomenon, "The Seattle Rain Festival - January 1st to December 31st".
Don't know if scooters are bustin' out all over in other parts of the U.S. but I hope to see for myself during a run around the country this summer.
Regards,
Dan
