I don't "pray" much but I have a friend in trouble. He is a man who has NO family here. He's from England and is 1/2 owner of a local shop that sold me a lot of my custom parts for my 1500CC IntruderLC. He is a genuine "GOOD GUY". Here is a cut & paste from my 1500LC group:

As most of you know by now, Stuart Hamilton is in a moment by moment battle for his life. He was transported to UCI Medical Center about 5:30PM PST Wednesday afternoon.

Upon arrival the chief surgeon indicated that he had a 50/50 chance of surviving the night. His quote was, "he is as sick as a person can be without dying." Both of his kidneys have failed and he is on constant dialysis with two, 'round the clock nurses in the UCI Surgical Intensive Care Unit. He is also on a ventilator. Acute Pancreatitus is the root cause of the total shut down of his vital organs.

As of now, 4:10AM PST on Thursday, he's showing minimal improvement and remains in very critical condition. The medical team is hoping for vital signs stabilization so that they can remove his Pancreas, a very high risk, high consequence operation.

My apologies for the sobering news, however I wanted to keep our LC brothers informed.

I'll continue to provide updates as things progress...

Bob

Stuart (Limey) is just the nicest guy in the world. Has NO family here, NO money, nothing but the friendship and love of so many of us who have known him. If so inclined, PLEASE say just a little prayer, or at least keep him in your thoughts once in awhile? He is really WORTH the effort. Thanks, Mike

Thank you. I was headed to the hospital to see him this morning after yesterdays surgery. Checked my e mail and found:

It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you of Stuart's passing early this morning. The cause was heart failure due to complications of acute Pancreatitus. He was only 45 years young.

He has no known surviving blood relatives. Janine, his live-in girlfriend for the past 5 years and her 15 year old daughter Sonjia are about the closest has has to family. I was at the hospital at the time of his death along with my wife Francie, and friends John Frazier, Denise Lollar and Jean Wheatrowski.

We agreed that cremation is most likely what Stu would have wanted. We also talked about how much he really wanted to ride with me to BikeFest in Las Vegas on 9/17/04. As a result, we are thinking about making this a "memorial ride" and bring Stu along with us for the ride. These details and other funeral arrangements will be announced over the next few days. In addition, any assistance we can provide to Janine regarding the urgent care expenses and funeral cost would be most appreciated. Who, what, where and how will be determined shortly.

Stu was full of energy and full of life and I know that's how he'd want to be remembered. I hope you can join us on the ride next month to celebrate his life.

I'll communicate more as Janine and I have the opportunity to solidify plans. As you know, this was so sudden and unexpected we are doing the best we can and taking things one step at a time.

We thank each of you for your prayers and understanding,

Bob

So, it's another tear filled day. Having lost my Daughter AND my Mother BOTH in June, this is just devastating news. He was fine until Wednesday, started throwing up. Died in hospital the next night. Just a "kid".......

Mike,

Saying prayers for Stuart, his friends (who are his family, from the sound of it), and you.
