Yesterday riding thru a local tourist trap in stop and go traffic my over temp lite came on and no fan noise. It did not boil over. When I got home I reached underneath and tried to turn the cooling fan. It would wiggle back and forth but not go around. Found a small pebble sitting on the fan's outer ring that would wedge between the fan and radiator. Removed the pebble, replaced the 10 amp fuse and all is good. I had ridden approximately 5 miles of gravel road just before hitting town and somehow one pebble managed to get where it didn't belong.

Interesting, a reminder perhaps to us all, to sometimes check the fan isn't jammed, especially after riding on gravel roads.
