I was at a dealer today (on other business), that has a '13 on sale for $9899. Of course, they could still try to jack-up their dealer prep charges, or it could be the market trying to find itself.

The price that counts is the one you pay to ride it out the door.;)

The whole industry I think has woken up to the need for lower prices.
Bout time.

Snagged a 2013 FZ8 brand new for $7904 out the door ( before tax but thats a given )

great ride for the kid.

109 HP inline four and seriously sophisticated adjustable shocks.
Lot of tech for low price.

Yet some machines like the 650Vstrom are $2k more !!!!!
nuts.

Part of the reason the FZ8 was a deal was the new Yammie triples are out and very well priced.
This mid range upright riding/naked bike is a hot category.

I allways thought out the door meant just that out the door = price + dealer fees, tax, title, and registration. At least that what it meant when I made an out the door offer to my local dealer. The salesman handed me the keys and I road away, good till my next birthday then I had renew my tags as usual. At least thats how they do it here.

^^^ Yup, out the door. My friend is a dealer and he doesn't play any 'extra charge' games. He has a very, very strong ranking around here. Honesty, quality work, and good prices are words that describe his business.

Since we all live in different tax & licensing jurisdictions, the total cost LESS tax/license is probably the most useful number to use for comparison shopping.

Kind of agree but.
As I have bought quite a few different vehicles out of state I still have to pay the sales tax of the county I live in here in California which is Riverside & tax rate is 8%. The license fees I can find online at DMV. I also figure in the travel cost to go out of state if I buy. So to me that total out the door with all the fees is what I look at.
I bought a 2012 Ford F-350 in Boise Id. last year. With the flying up & driving back 1000 miles I still saved over $4,000 over anything I could find in California.:D

Had an interesting chat with my dealer today. I went to pick up my '13 650 after service and he told me that while it was in the ready line two different people came up to him and asked him if that was a new one for sale. He said they were pretty excited that they had found one. He told them it was already sold and off they went. He said he thinks he misjudged the interest in the new Burgmans and he is now trying to order a couple more. Seems that those coming in are talking about the changes that have been made. Don't know how this is playing out across the country but it sounds like at least in this area of Northern Calif. the interest is high. I am going to check other dealers to see if any have advertised discounted prices.
