Hello everyone,

I bought a 2009 Burgman 650 Exec yesterday, came with a lot of great accessories too. My previous experience is riding a Suzuki PV 50 from the 80s, 1999 Honda VFR800Fi and 2008 Suzuki V-Strom 650, but that was already years ago before getting the Burgman. I look forward to riding on my own and occasionally with my wife.

I've been reading the discussions on this forum and scouring the internet for details on this bike; maintenance tips, mods, best accessories. My intention is to keep the OEM look where possible.

Welcome. I'm riding a 2009 Executive right now as well.

Here's something every AN650 rider should know about. It's invaluable if you don't want to have to count on a dealership to do every bit of maintenance for you. Oil and filter changes are the most common maintenance items, and they're very simple to do without even taking off any Tupperware, with the exception of the maintenance cover (center hump) which has ONE screw holding it on, so that you can add fresh oil.

Also, make sure those tires aren't more than five years old, regardless of condition. A lot of these old Burgmans have low mileage and ancient tires and fluids in them.

Thanks @dogboy!

I am not much of a mechanic but I can read instructions and hold the screwdriver from the correct end, so information like this is exactly what I am looking for. I didn't do a lot of servicing on the previous bikes on my own (apartment, no garage nor tools etc. at the time) but I plan to do that with the Burgman.

This is the exact condition of the current tires and the seller pointed it out also. I don't have the tools to deal with the tires, so I will ask a motorcycle shop nearby to do this for me. This reminds me that I have to do some research on which tires I should get...
Lots of threads in tires here. There aren’t that many choices for the sizes you’ll need.

Thanks! Appreciate the number of forum members riding the same bike. AFAIK Executive is just a few more things to go wrong in the long run anyway...
