2008 Head Gaskets w/ different SKUs?

Hi!

New here, but not new to scooters. Just acquired a low mileage '08 AN 400 for an excellent price about a month ago. I've already modded to 18g Dr. Pulley sliders and am enjoying the explosive acceleration they provide compared to the stock rollers. I'm wondering if any of you here might know how the higher Euro comp. ratio is acheived? In searching eBay for parts I found these two head gaskets with different SKUs. Can anyone here tell me what the differences between the two gaskets is or whether the difference might be part of the equation for the compression differences? I suppose I could query the vendor and hope he might know?

Here's a chart form the Service Manual that shows that there was different ratios for the US/Califronia/Canada and the rest of the world as listed in the 2007 Service Manual. K7 means 2007.

In 2009 they updated the model designations in the Service Manaul with AN400 / AN400A (antilock brakes) / and AN400ZA (UK and the EU). There's no updates for any changes to the compression ratios as originally listed for 2007 in the Service Manual.

Now the odd thing is that on Suzuki's website they have listed the compression ratio of the AN400A for the US as 12.5:1 for the last three years but, as mentioned above, no changes in the Service Manual.

Forgot to mention that, although the Suzuki website lists the compression ratio as 12.5:1, the owner's manual that came with my 2013 AN400A has it still listed as 10.6:1 in the "SPECIFICATIONS".

I think you're correct.

The latest Suzuki Edge pdf has the US version of the 400 listed as 10.6:1 - the last two years this document had it at 12.5:1. 12.5:1 was never even listed in the service manual so who knows where that figure came from - probably a typo or someone at Suzuki did a incorrect "cut and paste"from another document. The website still has 12.5:1 but pretty sure that's not the case. Just the fact that US versions can run on 87 octane should be reason enough to think the compression ratio is only 10.6:1 and not 12.5:1.
