Sounds good Phil! And I hope the weather is good for riding when you pick it up!

Any chance of meeting up somewhere so I can take it for a spin?

In the name of science, of course. Everyone wants me to do a write-up on the overdrive feature, ya know. :D
Congrats Phil... I hope it does get delivered on time :D

Things can change between now and the weekend, of course, but the current prediction is for partly cloudy on Friday, 30% chance on showers on Saturday, and sunny on Sunday.

Sounds perfect; ride it home Saturday between showers, and spend the day admiring it, reading the manuals, etc.

On Sunday, meet me at the Arboretum so I can give it a thorough examination.
YAHOO for you ,Phil
now, we'll be expecting a full report on it, what all it has, whats new..etc.
also lots of pictures would be fantastic.
Thanks all - will report out shortly after delivery. Brian perhaps we can meet somewhere soon. I have commitments on Sunday (assuming a Sat. pickup) but I think in the next couple weeks we could meet (Coulon Park on Lake Wash?)

Way to go Phil!
I'm eager to see and hear about it's features.
I have a vested interest as I just commited to a 2005 Executive up here in the frozen north.
Supposed to get mine in May.
Should be above freezing by then

Hope you have an orgasmic ride home on it.

Never been there; that would make a nice diversion.

Send me a PM when you have a convenient date/time in mind.

BTW, I'm actually in Everett so anywhere on the I-5 or I-405 corridor is good for me. Whatever works for you.
Just heard from the dealer and it did not arrive on the delivery truck. He is still trying to get it for delivery this weekend but looks now that it will be delayed one week. Such as shame, the weather is supposed to be in the low 60's and sunny.

Bummer :x
Phil, ever consider going across the border and buying an Executive? On the Exec I tested a couple weeks back the ABS/electric mirrors, etc., work great. I didn't get to check out the new adjustable screen, but I do know the stocker was really noisy on the highway on my test bike, so I imagine that's worth quite a bit right there! Best of all, whatever extra it costs you you'd get back on resale value one day, especially if they never officially import execs into the states :p
It did cross my mind when I heard officially that they were coming. But think for now I will be satisfied with the stripped down model  Who knows what will be available in 07?

Twinrider, if you test rode an Exec, didn't it have the adjustable windscreen?
I don't understand. :?
Are they different in Japan?
I hope that you enjoy your new ride Phil. I to am very interested in a review of the OD so let us know how it functions if you can get up to speed on I-5 on the weekend. I have to wait until May for my 650 Executive unless the ship gets in early.
Alburg, see my first ride review dated the 21st. I did get it out on I-5 but OD did not seem to kick in at the speeds I was able to go while sticking within the break-in rpm limits.
Hey Phil,

next trip to the highway-zone. try this.

get to 55 or 60, make plans to be at that speed for about 5 minutes.
Make a mental note of what your RPMs are while in Auto.
Switch to Manual.
Note the new RPMs.
You will probably have to switch up to get the OD light to ... light.
When you do, make another note of the RPMs.
Then switch back to OD and note the RPMs again.
Do all of this while maintaining a safe and legal speed, maintaing constant eye contact on the road, cars, and problem areas around you, and being the safe driver on the road cause we all know that everyone else out there is just NUTS!!! :happy6:
