Four of us with scooters, 3 K4's and 1 SW, spent a couple of hours today up on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Boone, N.C. doing interviews and rides for the producer and newscaster (Roy Atkins) of a local Fox 8 affiliate. Both these guys are avid cycle riders...one on a Beemer the other on a PC.
After editing it will result in about 3-4 minutes of "Roy's World"....who finds things of interest around N.C. The questions asked of us were the usual, such as: how long have you been riding, type of experience, why scooters, will they become more popular, etc.
It was a lot of fun and the views from the overlooks fantastic as it was an unusually clear day. Afterwards we rode in to Blowing Rock for lunch and then a 100 mile return trip home.
I'm told these segments of Roys World are also broadcast from Asheville and either Wilmington or Lumberton (forget which) on Fox 8 Affiliates. So if any of you see 4 old chubby (not fat mind you) guys on T.V. it might be us having our 15 seconds of fame. For local consumption...as I know you North Carolinians can hardly wait... I'll post the show times for Channel 8 TV out of Greensboro as soon as I know.
