Has anyone conducted a 0-60 time on their Burg 650? Just curious on times and how you performed it. Ex: Power mode, manual shifting, brake stance.

Bryan,

Sept. '03 Cycle World features a 650 Burgman road test. It lists the following performance figures:

0-30 mph ........ 2.4 seconds

0-60 mph ........ 6.8 seconds

0-90 mph ........ 19.0 seconds

1/4 mile ........ 15.54 seconds at 84.71 mph

Riderrich - great info.

Let's put this in perspective. Below are the standing start times for some well known sports saloons. It makes for interesting reading, and explains why I blew off a 528i last weekend, even with camping stuff for two and the bird on the back...:

2001 BMW 528i
0-60.... 7.8
1/4 mile.... 16.1

1999 BMW 328i
0-60.... 6.9
1/4 mile.... 15.2

2001 Lexus LS 430
0-60.... 6.7
1/4 mile.... 14.8

2004 Mazda RX-8
0-60.... 6.4
1/4 mile.... 14.8 (6 speed)

2002 Mercedes-Benz C320
0-60.... 6.8
1/4 mile.... 15.1

2004 Volkswagon Golf R32
0-60.... 6.5
1/4 mile.... n/a

2000 Jaguar S-Type
0-60.... 8.7
1/4 mile.... 16.8

2001 Jaguar X-Type
0-60.... 6.3
1/4 mile.... 14.9

Kind of puts the big lump in a new light, doesn't it?

Lycheed,

Very interesting comparison data. We're in good company re: performance with the Burg 650. I doubt that the general public would ever figure those (the Burg's) performance stats were from a SCOOTER! Surprise, surprise!!
