I have worn the pants and jacket together on my commute to work for several weeks now and I am completely satisfied. I am 6'2" 215lbs and wear the XL jacket with size 38" pants (I wear 36" waist in jeans). The jacket with the liner in fits well but is a little loose w/o the liner. I find it very comfortable and mainly wear it with the liner in at temps in the 30s up to 80s. I have a mesh jacket that fits tighter for warmer days. I haven't worn the pants with the liner in and probably won't need to in central Texas. My commute is only 4 miles or so and even in lower temps at 35 degrees I haven't been uncomfortable with just shorts under the pants without the liner. I have also had days in the 80s with pants over shorts/pants and have not been too hot. These products are very well made and packaged. I am fortunate enough to work in shorts and wear them almost year round. On Sundays its all I can do to get home from church and change out of dress pants. With this said I am not sure if it's just me or it took a little getting used to being all duded up in these padded items. I feel much more secure and it hasn't been too difficult to get used to but there was a little adjustment period. The neck strap on the jacket was annoying at first but I seem to have gotten the right tension down and for some reason it makes a difference when I tighten my neck strap on my helmet before the jacket neck strap(not sure why though). At times the knee pads seem to turn in while riding and all I do is make sure they are out before I mount the bike. Now they are not an issue. Anyway I appreciate the members advice and thought I would share what I have found. Also Motoliberty.com in San Antonio is where I purchased the gear. They offer great service and advice. Oh yeah!! As far as rain protection they probably would be very effective for my short commute but I try very hard not to scoot in the rain. I hate driving in the rain period.
