BurgmanUSA is solely supported by donations from its members. BurgmanUSA does NOT use advertisements for revenue.
Don't you think they need to remove this? Obviously it is now a false statement!

Since before most all of us forum members have been born, advertisements have been apart of our lives. There's no point in getting in a tizzy about seeing them here. I full understand and condone the transfer in ownership. Bill Meek was a one-man machine that without him, the site has to go through some drastic changes. I'm not a forum admin or mod, but I am the creator of the BKB knowledgbase. Myself and a handful of others have put in a ridiculous amount of time into that section of the website. I would like to hear (perhaps through email) about the future of the BKB. Thanks.

You are correct. The footer tag has been removed. I have enjoyed this forum for many years. I sure hope it doesn't change too much that I no longer enjoy logging on.

Burgman Brothers, Change, as it has already been stated, is inevitable. The secret to BUSA has always been the cordial and civil discourse that the members have insisted on maintaining. If you doubt this, just tool on over to any other site. "Rich, you are exaggerating, that is one heck of a stereotype!" Those of you who do log on to other sites, because you have more than one ride, know this. BUSA and MUSA will continue to be the industry standard because we, the members, 'Make it so...' First and foremost, thanks to Bill Meek and Bryan (GreenGoose) for all that they have done in support for this forum . . . Second, Welcome Dwaye . . . best of future good to you in the forum. Re: advertisements . . . I have no complaint as long as it is on topic for the group as much as possible - I really don't want to see tons of "off topic" ads with no relation to my interest. Due to other obligations I have, I have not been real faithful to the forum over the last couple of months . . . I just found this string and read it thru and now I do understand the shift of tone I had felt for a month or so. I do not think it is the end or even a major shakeup as of yet. All I know is this forum/group has been good for me till now and I look for the same in the future.

Can you explain what you mean by a shift of tone? I had not detected a shift.

Thanks Bryan -- Welocme Dwayn *hope I spelled those right).
The site has been invaluable to me since buying a 2007 used Burgman in 2009, I have put 50000 miles on it.
A great ride. One major problem. Rectifier or something blew every light bulb that was on, lost indications on dash, lost power, blew the 12 v input (short) to the ECM. Long story as to what it might have been.
Anyway, finding a schematic on here (LeDude) -- I was able to draw out a circuit and lucked out finding the short at the ECM. Bought a used one off E Bay and got running again (running on battery) and then checked out the rectifier output and decided to replace it.
Also, found out about the Customer Satisfaction issue with 2007 mofdel idle problems and got Suzuki to install a new ECM (free fix).
Also, became aware of darkside of the Nexen rear tire. Been using that for 12000 miles.
Great folks on here.

GreenGoose, it's been a pleasure, and I can only reiterate the comments and accolades given above. Same to all of the great moderators and supporting agents on this site. I will sorely miss you guys (you and Bill) as moderators, but I hope you do stay on as members and continue to contribute your insights and opinions. We have come to regard you all, not just as moderators and administrators, but also as friends, and dare I say, even brethren. I want to welcome you, Dwayn, and your company, and I want to thank you guys for taking on the responsibilities involved in maintaining this forum in order to keep this forum alive for us.
I appreciate the need to promote income from a source such as a website. Having been on the forefront of the breaking of DARPA and opening of what is now known as, "the internet" to the public, I ABHOR ads. I think negative marketing has taken over the internet and plummeted its worth and value to the consumer; negative not because of content, so much, but more because of proliferation.
I want to thank you and your team for limiting the ads to a single banner on the page. A lot of folks here, as end-users, do not realize just how significant a gesture such a limitation is, but I do. Like another has said, the MUSA site has "top and bottom" ads, but folks, really... one word... your pick: Yahoo.com, MSN.com, Facebook.com... etc... There are so many Adobe Flash ads on most forums and sites that, even with broadband, I get significant lag for loading a page, and with a 4G hotspot, refuse to even bother trying to log onto the page.
If I was to make a request regarding ads, I make but a single simple one... Static ads instead of Flash ads...PLEASE!! Indeed, it is Adobe's Flash that slows the loading of pages to a crawl for most users.

What pisses me of is I wanted to have my own adds on the web site and they never answered my email, guess my money is no good. I would pay $1000 a year to advertise my products,, but went another direction when I waited a month for a reply.

This goes for me too. I valued this web site and nearly puked when I saw the ads. Keep the ads very limited and perhaps I can develop a tollerance. If enough others feel like me, then there will soon be little value in this site to offset the negativity of ads.

The most annoying so far has to be the one ad I got that reloaded the page several times so you simply can't use the Backspace button to go back to the previous page!

Welcome Dwayn, I am in hopes that this sight does become bigger and better. I have had trouble posting pics and would love to see more Burgman merchadise too in the store area. My wife designed a new patch for Indiana and it has had several who have purchased it already. We have it on the back of our riding gear also. I would love to be able to post a pic of it also. every time I try to post a pic it tells me it is to large. How can you post a decent pic? hope this gets better. If anyone wishes to see it I can send a pic via email. Email me at RPMac3479@sbcglobal.net. RS Randy

Randy, I open my pics in microsoft Paint, select the Image tag, then Attributes, then reduce the horizontal and vertical size proportionately (for example, I cut each by one half or two-thirds), then resave. I keep the altered pics in a subfolder I've named "BUSA sized pics". When downloading to the site, I use photos from that subfolder only.
