If it had been one of the turkey buzzards I've come close to hitting a couple of times it would have been something other than bird poop . Luckily it was only a sparrow so I just kind of ducked.

I had a bird hit my Kymco Yager on the third day of ownership directly on the headlight (Stupid pigeon), scared the crap out me. The only thing I remember of that day was looking in the mirror and seeing lots of feathers in the air.

I've had near misses with hawks, owls, geese, and buzzards but no impacts.

I had a bird hit me in the side of the head once. Didn't kill it and no poop and lucky I was wearing my helmet.

I hit a wood pigeon at about 45 it went into the front wheel of the SV650 I was riding just got a shudder, the bird cartwheeled down the road right under the wheels of a following Land Rover, no damage to me or the bike. Then a few weeks later I hit a Pheasant up in the Scottish Borders at about 65, it hit the fairing of the Vstrom then my leg, feathers and blood everywhere, it was like a bomb going off the fairing came to bits and I had a sore leg for a while, couldn't find the bird. Better off than the pilot of the light aircraft that hit a stork, it came through the shield and impaled the pilot to his seat with its beak.

I SHOULD NEVER HAVE READ THIS POST! Coming home from a friends house out in the country I had a baby cardinal fly into my front fairing. I barely saw it and braked hard but contact was made. The poor little thing was able to hop off the road but looked quite dazed. I sure hope it makes it. 35+ years riding and I now have to add bird to my short list of animal strikes. A snake, squirrel, armadillo, and a field mouse are the others.

I've got a list of close calls and hits. The coolest one (at the moment it happened it scared the crap out of me) was an item out of the back of a moving pickup truck heading up I-5 - a styrofoam top from a cooler flew out of the back of the truck which I was probably 75 feet behind - it went up about 15 feet into the air then suddenly flopped down onto the pavement directly at my front tire. I never even had time to react as the front wheel of the Harley hit it at the same time as the top hit the freeway. I looked behind me - it looked like snow! That thing literally blew up as it hit the pavement and my front tire. It took maybe 2 seconds two seconds for that to happen.

i was riding on this old, back road into town, it was lined with 2' tall weeds and old fenceposts. 2 birds decided to try and fly under the bike for some reason, one barely cleared the front tire, the second got stuck right in front of the radiator, i was slowing down and trying to see where it had gone when it kindof rolled out and stumbled off the road. i stopped and checked for damage, not a single feather was stuck in the radiator, and the bird flew away a few minutes later! im just glad it wasnt a pheasant

Not that it makes any difference now, but I wonder if the fact that the visor was found embedded in the pheasant, did the rider have his visor open - it was bloody hot the last couple of days - I know I had mine cracked open a few notches.

Very close call with a crow once.
On my way to the park on my first scooter. It flew out of the ditch right in front of me. I didn't beshat myself but the crow actually did, all over my open face helmet and cool riding sunglasses.
When you're riding an orange 150cc chinese scooter its tough to look cool and tough, etc. Throw a little crow droppings into the mix and well,,, Very embarassing.
